MBABANE – Vovovo director Sipho ‘Tsetla’ Bhembe has set the record straight regarding Leon Manyisa’s future.

Quizzed yesterday to share the latest update regarding the future of the player, Bhembe said: “Look, you want to know which team Manyisa will be playing for next season, he will be playing for Vovovo. He is our player,” Bhembe said.

Asked further what necessitated them to retain the player, he responded: “As I said earlier, he is our player, secondly we need his services to improve our log standings,” he said.

Offers

On the offers that have been tabled before Manyisa, Bhembe said the big three must forget. “Those teams can forget, our final decision is that Manyisa will return to Vovovo,” he added.
He said they could entertain international offers.

“You will recall that Highlands Park once had the player for trials. They told us that they might sign him next season. We will hear what they have to say but right now the player will re-join Vovovo,” he said.

It was reported that the big three were in a tug-of-war over the former FC Van player. Mbabane Highlanders had tabled E65 000 while Mbabane Swallows had made a E70 000 offer, with Manzini Wanderers said to be offering E85 000.

It was also reported that the player had agreed to join Swallows and he even signed a pre-contract. However, the deal could not materialise because the player felt he would be betraying the other big two teams when they were also interested in him. According to sources, the player was frustrated by the tug-of-war and wanted peace of mind and that is why he decided to return to Vovovo.

When reached for comment, Manyisa politely declined to comment on the issue. Manzini Wanderers Manager Berger Nxumalo said they could not comment for now until they signed the player, which he confided they were still working on. Swallows had earlier indicated through their Marketing and Communications Manager Mancoba Mabuza that when a new player joins the team, they would call a press conference.
Mbabane Highlanders boss Ally Kgomongwe also earlier indicated that he wanted the player.
