MBABANE – Former Mbabane Citizens first choice goalkeeper Thabo Makhae is lending a helping hand.

The shot-stopper joined teammates yesterday in donating food parcels for the destitute in the Mpumalanga Province in his home country, South Africa.

They are among other sportspeople who have contributed immensely in helping the needy by providing food parcels and other essentials during the ongoing lockdown as the world strives to eliminate the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

In their Facebook page, the GladAfrica Championship side, TS Galaxy officials and players are shown distributing food parcels to the needy. Makhae is one of the expatriate players who left ‘Ezinkulu’ following financial challenges faced by the team when they campaigned in the MTN Premier League last season.

He has since secured a two-year deal with the South Africa National First Division team
He said it was true that he had signed with South Africa National First Division side TS Galaxy and have penned down a two-year deal. He acknowledged that leaving Citizens was a blessing in disguise as he was able to secure a good deal with TS Galaxy and getting a E12 000 monthly salary.
