MBABANE – Development is at stand-still. After the outbreak of the novel COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, most of the country’s development initiatives were disrupted and this includes the Premier League of Eswatini’s (PLE) E5 million project.

The project was announced by PLE Executive Member Sicelo Mkhonta during the organisation’s special general meeting, which was a continuation of their annual general meeting (AGM) at Sigwaca House.
The gist of the meeting was to deliberate on the organisation’s financial statements, an item which was left out during the AGM.

After, the meeting, Mkhonta disclosed the proposed project as part of announcements made to attending Board of Governors (BoGs).
“The executive would like to announce that they are planning on embarking on a complex project, which is basically an infrastructure worth E5 million,” said the executive member.

Mkhonta proceeded to explain that they intended to construct a structure that would house the PLE as it was currently operating under the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) building.

He further informed the BoGs that the executive was exploring ways through which the organisation could generate income and the project was aimed at also achieving this objective.
