MBABANE – The two female supporters would shame Japan’s sumo wrestlers. After their club Manzini Wanderers was ousted out of the EswatiniBank Cup by their ‘superbuddies’, Mbabane Highlanders, they got into a big fight by the latter’s dressing room.

Unstoppable, the two ladies were their friends decided to even let them have it after relentlessly trying to separate them and stop the fight!
This was right in front of police who gave the supporters who had gathered with their drinks including a 25 litres of the Eswatini favoured brew, buganu which they enjoyed to cut the fight without interference.

It appeared as though the supporters who sacrificed trying to stop the fight had succeeded when they allegedly provoked one reluctantly seemed to walk away with the club’s renowned official Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza.

However, that was not for long as she returned right to the fighting spot only to find her rival still hot under the collar, beating and landing blows to anyone standing in her way, even men but they never retaliated or gave up on trying to prevent the fight continuing until one of them was floored.

“I told you let her fight it seems they have old scores to settle. Let them have it,” shouted one of the supporters and in no time the one who was first to attack was receiving countless claps from her angry rival who had been outdone initially.

The alleged provoker was soon down on the floor, the rival on top of her slapping her with both hands all over the ears and cheeks. Again, police let the supporters try to separate them but the one who was floored was again hitting anyone on her way and that is when a police van raced into the scene, plain-clothed officers rushed for the fighting fans especially the alleged perpetrator in this instance, lifted her from the ground like a dead cow right into the back of the van.

outcry

A uniformed officer then went for the other supporter as her friends tried to get her off the scene but there was an outcry over having them in one car. The police drove off with the one to Lobamba Police Station before quickly returning to get the other one who was at pains trying to explain she was provoked.
‘They have failed to stop fighting so they are getting arrested’ was the response from one of the police officers as the supporters tried to make noise about taking in their friends.

The gist, also, given the comments was that the allegedly provoked fan had a soft spot for Highlanders and made it known she did not mind losing to them. However, this did not go down well with the group even though the attacker seemed to hold grudges over an issue out of football or this game in particular as repeatedly shouted ‘wangicaphata’ loosely translated to mean ‘she provoked me’.

Meanwhile, Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed that there were people who were involved in a fight but said they were later released by the police which meant there were no arrests.
