MBABANE – The country’s big three teams; Manzini Wanderers, Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows have raised concerns over the Nomanini ticketing system.

A source close to the matter has alleged that the big three have raised this issue among themselves and have approached the Premier of Eswatini (PLE) to register their concerns, chiefly being the total gate takings credited to the teams’ accounts.

As a result, the source further revealed that the PLE had been forced to seek alternative means to make the teams happy with regard to the issue of gate takings. This is not to suggest there has been any malpractice on the part of the company that owns the ticketing system.

“That is why the PLE has introduced the Moja ticketing system and will be comparing the two systems going forward,” claimed the source.
When reached for comment, Manzini Wanderers CEO Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini confirmed that they had concerns about their gate takings lately.

“The gate takings were not reflecting the number of people who were in the stadium. Lately, we have been discussing this matter internally and we are going to take it to the next level. We are not happy with the gate takings,” Dlamini said.
Meanwhile, Mbabane Highlanders Head of Marketing and Communications Bhekisisa Dlamini also confirmed that they had raised this issue internally.
“The figures were not adding up and we were wondering if the system was to be trusted or not. However, we were yet to officially register our concerns,” said the Highlanders official.

When he was told that the PLE had introduced Moja Ticketing system, he sounded relieved.
“Something had to be done. In fact, I would personally prefer the Momo ticketing system because MTN is the sponsor of the league. I think they would be reliable as compared to the others,” he said.
Efforts to get comments from Mbabane Swallows Marketing and Communications Officer Mancoba Mabuza were futile as his mobile number was unreachable when called several times yesterday.

PLE Chief Operations Officer Pat Vilakati also confirmed that teams had raised concerns as they always do with other cases but they were addressed.
“First, let me clarify that before we appoint a ticketing system, we look at the magnitude of the game. This is why we felt that Moja ticketing system was right for the Ingwenyama semi-finals games. They are not new as we have used them in the Charity Cup,” Vilakati said.
He also clarified that they had not dumped Noma Nini but they were still partners and would use their services anytime they felt it was suitable for the organisation.

The Noma Nini ticketing system was introduced two years ago and saw teams up in arms a few months later, labelling the system unreliable. However, the PLE appealed to the teams to embrace change as prior, tickets were sold in the stadium.
Noma Nini Ticketing System Director Thabo Magagula said he had no comment regarding this matter.
