MBABANE – Do local teams believe more in importing talent?
The FIFA Global Transfer Market Report of 2019, which was released on Monday, rates Eswatini in the top 10 of countries that import more players in Africa. According to the report for male players, the country is ranked eighth in the continent and 90th globally. There are 54 football nations in Africa and 210 in the world.
The report provides detailed data on the global international transfer activity at football clubs around the world throughout 2019. With the registration of players now centralised, FIFA extracted the data from its Transfer Matching System (TMS) on January, 20, 2020 (Monday). The figures show an increase of over 43 per cent for Eswatini as compared to 2018.
