MBABANE – After a three week lay-off in the doubles category, the pair of Flag Nxumalo and Eddie Mkhonta beat the pair of Siya Dlamini and Bhubesi Sihlongonyane.

The former won 9-6 in a pulsating encounter.
The match started on a high with Eddie and Flag winning the first four frames.
Sensing danger, Siya and Bhubesi requested for a five minutes break and were duly granted. They came back to win only one frame to put the score into a respectable 4-1.

Flag and Eddie won two consecutive frames to make it 6-1 but Siya and Bhubesi retaliated by winning the same number of frames to make it 6-3.
Soon the score was 7-3 after the pair made it with a break finish. It was then a case of too little too late as the pair of Siya and Bhubesi won another two consecutive frames to make it 7-5 but Flag and Eddie never panicked as they made it 8-5 with ease.

A glorious opportunity was presented to Siya and Eddie to make the score 8-6 but they decided to let it slip through their fingers after failing to finish a frame with only one ball left and had a free shot to play.
Flag and Eddie quickly made it 9-6 and they are now one win away from winning the maiden trophy challenge in the doubles category.
