MBABANE -   Manzini Wanderers striker Leon Manyisa is now valued close to E400 000.

According to the transfermarkt.com statistics which were last updated on December 9, the ex-FC Van player is valued at E391 310. The highest valued player in Eswatini is Maritzburg United’s  Justice Figareido at E2.3 million and he is followed by Polokwane City’s Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze at E1.5 million with Mbombela’s Felix Badenhorst at close to E800 000.

The recognition comes after the player was transferred to FC Van in September. The player is also fresh from passing trials for Highlands Park. However, his deal could not materialise because he has already played for two teams this season in Manzini Wanderers and FC Van. The recognition might have also been sparked by reports that link him with a move to Real Madrid.
Reached for comment, Wanderers General Manager Berger Nxumalo said they appreciated that the player was recognised across the globe, however, he did not want to dwell on that much.

pending

“Look, I think you know that we still have a pending case. We have appealed against the verdict by the Disciplinary and Protests Committee. We can only comment much on the value after we have sorted the pending case,” Nxumalo said.
Asked on the Highlands Park trials, Nxumalo said they were impressed with Manyisa and were eager to sign him.
“They inquired about the possibilities of signing in January, however, we honestly disclosed to them about the current situation surrounding the player. We are also aware that he cannot play for another team until the end of the season. We can only resume talks with Highlands Park at the end of the season,” he said.

suitors

He also highlighted that for any possible suitors, his parent team Vovovo will be involved in the deal.
Quizzed about the possibilities of seeing Manyisa in action, he said the team started training on Thursday and Manyisa was among the players who joined the team’s training session.

“On him returning to action,   we will have to see the outcome of our appeal first then we will take it from there,” he said.
Manyisa was suspended from playing football until he is cleared back to Wanderers by Armenia based side FC Van. This follows that Wanderers fielded him in a league game against Malanti Chiefs where he scored the winner last month.
