‘MADZE’ LEADS BUHLENI CLEAN-UP CAMPAIGN

MBABANE – Keep the environment clean.The Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga will tomorrow lead the Clean Eswatini Campaign at Buhleni in the Hhohho region.


Buhleni was selected as one of the campaign’s ‘hotspots’ and the Minister will lead staff members from his Ministry, the Eswatini Environment Authority (EEA) as well as residents from Buhleni and surroundings on a two-hour cleaning spree starting at 8am. Bulunga said the Clean Up campaign in line with the vision of inculcating a spirit of healthy living among EmaSwati.

“As a Ministry we are in full support of the Clean Up campaign spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs. You will know that our Ministry has a program called Shukuma Eswatini which promotes wellbeing through sport and physical activity. We are well aware of the fact that even if we exercise every day, we will not achieve our goal of having a healthy nation if we live in dirty places. That is why therefore this campaign is so dear to us,” said Bulunga.


Bulunga further mentioned that the Kingdom of Eswatini was recently listed amongst the top five best tourist destinations worldwide. He said it was a challenge to the nation to ensure environmental cleanliness that is welcoming to tourist. He urged residents of Buhleni and surrounding areas to join the clean-up campaign to come in numbers to in the clean-up campaign.
