MBABANE – One group of the Zambian national team, Chipolopolo were expected to set foot in the country yesterday afternoon after having left home in the morning.

Expected to be among the first group was the interim coach, Aggrey Chiyangi and most of the 20-member squad players. They were due to arrive through the Oshoek Border after a flight to Johannesburg, South Africa yesterday morning. Worth noting is that they have declared that they want to win here to have an easier job at home on October 19 in the second leg of the final round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020 Cameroon race.

Dominated

Also, Chiyangi has named 20 players who are dominated by the COSAFA Cup 2019 winning team. Some of the new additions are Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba, Paul Latema, Kelvin Kapumbu and Amity Shamende. “The most important thing for us as we go there is to focus on a win but again we have to be cautious, we cannot just go there to play an open game because we know that all the teams have developed so much. “Eswatini is playing very good football, so we have to careful that we don’t lose there. we must make sure that our focus is to win there and then we come back home, things become easier,” he said to Zambian media before departure.

He said they did not want to say they were not going to say ‘they want to come and win here (home). for us we want to go and finish the game in Eswatini’ so that the game becomes easier for them in return leg. Meanwhile, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe confirmed that the Zambians left their country yesterday morning. “The correspondence we have is to the effect that they will arrive in two groups from today (yesterday) and tomorrow (today) but we have not been given any time save to know that one group will sleep in the country while another follows tomorrow,” he explained when asked at about lunch time.
