ABOUT 500 REGISTERED FOR 5KM

MBABANE – If you will be making your debut in the fourth edition of the Imbube Marathon, then the Eswatini 5km is the right platform to put yourself to test.

A 5km race is the perfect distance for beginners targeting a first race, but an equally satisfying target for a speed-demon with more racing experience. The Eswatini 5km, hosted by the Church of the Nazarene, is scheduled for Saturday at RFM, Manzini, starting at 6am. Churches in the country are expected to come out and give a shot on the Eswatini 5km hosted by the Church of the Nazarene on Saturday.

The race organiser, Tokky Hou, said they were impressed with the numbers of churches who were taking the initiative in supporting their own by registering for the race. She said the church that will dominate on the day will take home a lucrative prize of E5 000. She said they eere inviting church leaders to come with their congregations to enjoy sport while also assisting those who have suffered abuse, including women and children. The runners for the Eswatini 5km are expected to come from churches, clubs, companies, schools, universities and individuals.
Hou said tomorrow they would have open registration at Bhunu Mall, Manzini, Spar Manzini opposite The George Hotel, Sneakers in Mbabane and Timbali Lodge, Ezulwini. Its E100 registration fee for each athlete.
