LOBAMBA – A 52nd minute strike from the spot kick was enough to take Royal Leopard to the Eswatini Charity Cup 2019 play-offs final.

Midfielder Zweli ‘Mlilo’ Nxumalo, who was simply fantastic and classy, netted from the spot kick. Speedy striker Bonginkosi ‘Manyovu’ Dlamini went down rather cleverly when a Sea Birds defender got in front of him and cleared the ball from his feet and the referee Celumusa  Siphepho did not hesitate to give it amid protests from Sea Birds.

SOFT

The teams had been locked at 1-1 before this penalty, which appeared rather soft but it came after two other appeals had arguably been rightly not given just seconds before.

Sea Birds, who had restored parity through veteran winger Darren ‘Dazza’ Christie, kept fighting and introduced their new signing Xolani ‘Chocco’ Sibandze and Gcinizwi Dlamini, which saw them force two good saves off Phephisani Msibi as they pushed for an equaliser inside the last 10 minutes.
‘Chocco’ was introduced in the 74th and their efforts were in vain as they ran out of time. It all meant a final between Leopard and Matsapha United.
