The host of the event was commended for spicing up the sessions by introducing new workouts each month.
Among yesterday’s exercises, yoga was the majority’s favourite.
Yoga instructor Stfombo explained the importance and benefits of the different poses particularly in relaxing the mind, controlling breathing and stretching the entire body.

“Yoga gives you strength, flexibility and mind-body awareness. It is a full body workout as it combines mind exercises as well as physical strength and can be done at home any time. It is a great activity to fight diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease,” said Dlamini.

Dr Dlamini also encouraged people to live a healthy and active lifestyle. She said exercising was good for blood circulation throughout the body, which is vital in foiling life-threatening diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, hypertension and heart failure.

Coach Mthupha further thanked all the participants for their dedication and bravery in taking responsibility for their lives. He further invited more people to join Fitness Gladiators and promised to treat them to a surprise workout next month.
