PLE’S PAT REFS ELECTORAL OFFICER

MBABANE – Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) COO Pat Vilakati has been appointed electoral officer for ERA’s by-elections.

Eswatini Referees Association (ERA) will have elections to fill the vacant secretarial post during a General Assembly at Caritas Centre in Manzini on Sunday, starting at 9am. It is a two-horse race for the post between senior referee Mbongeni Shongwe and Match Commissioner Bhekisizwe Mkhabela.

ERA Acting Secretary Banele Nhlengetfwa confirmed the appointment of Vilakati.
Meanwhile, the post became vacant when former international referee Simanga Nhleko, left the association to join the PLE as chief executive officer in September last year. Reports covering activities of the past year, on the other hand, will also be tabled during the meeting. Chairman Sipho Kunene is also set to address the membership.

ERA members include Premier League and National First Division referees as well as match commissioners.
