MBABANE – A new champion will emerge in tomorrow’s Mormond ‘Stix’ Mountain Bike Charity race.

All roads lead to Manzini Club for the third instalment of the off-road race, which leads the adventurous cyclists to three communities that include Lwandle and Nhlambeni. Action gets underway at 7:30am.  The event will be headlined by the 55km race, which was won by Muzi Shabangu in the last two editions.

With Shabangu out of the race due to school commitments, a new champion will be crowned on the day.  The latter had clocked 02:20:01 hours to claim gold last year. He could not be sought for comment on missing out, as he was reportedly in class at the time of compiling this report.

Other races will be 35, 25, 12 and six kilometres long. Late registration closes today at 5pm. Entry fees range between E50 and E150.
Cyclists are reminded to get their goody bags at the host venue today.

Like in the previous editions, it will be a family day punctuated with several activities. Other fitness enthusiasts will be accommodated in an aerobathon.
Those who will go to the venue just to watch the activities will pay E20.

Proceeds from the race, on the other hand, benefit the needy, especially those who are along the route.  The cyclists race past three communities in Nhlambeni, Gundvwini and Lwandle.
