MBABANE – Agility, endurance and long strides all defined Sikhumbuzo Sihlongonyane’s dominance in the 113th parkrun.

The army athlete, who was crowned champion of the KwaMagogo 10km Legacy Race, was also the winner in yesterday’sMbabane Parkrun. He clocked an improved 15:54 minutes. He was pursued closely by his teammate, Nkululeko Gama, who boasts most wins in the weekly timed 5km run. The latter reached the winning point after 16:04 minutes.

Sihlongonyane, who looked more calm than exhausted after the 5km race, said the parkrun was good practice for him as he was preparing for the Jabulisa Foundation half marathon scheduled for next Saturday. The three-dimensional race featuring 5km, 10km and 21km events, will start at Gobolondlo Hall in Pigg’s Peak at 7am.
