MBABANE – “I do not mind retiring at Manzini Sea Birds.”

These were comments by former Mbabane Highlanders captain, Xolani ‘Chocco’ Sibandze.
“It’s hard but I had to do it.I feel I have to say this to Highlanders family, it has been good being with the team for over 10 years and they have made me who I am. All credit  must go to Highlanders. I will always treasure them wherever I am,” Sibandze said.

He further highlighted his new home will be Sea Birds.
“My focus now is Manzini Sea Birds; I want to help them win trophies. Their log standings (sixth) mean they have a potential to compete. It’s a team that I won’t mind to retire at. I still believe that have a lot to offer to Eswatini football,” he stressed.

Sibandze said he was looking forward to playing under Anthony Mdluli.
“I played under Mdluli during his tenure at Sihlangu. He is a good coach and I am positive he will bring out the best from me. I also have not lost hope of getting a national team call-up,” he said.

He also urged the ‘Black Bull’ fans to support the new director, Ally Kgomongwe.
“Please give Kgomongwe a chance. I believe he has what it takes to revive Highlanders. Unfortunately he came when I had already decided about my future. Now I have to focus on my new team,” he said.

Sibandze joined Highlanders in 2008 and has never played for another Premier League team other than the capital city giants.
He was one of the long serving captains and has won a gold with ‘Bull’ in 2010 when they won the SwaziBank(now Eswatini) Cup.
