LOBAMBA – Already there is a trainer and player manager in place from South Africa. Mbabane Highlanders’ new director Ally Kgomongwe from South Africa, Pretoria yesterday came with a trainer and manager to specifically monitor players’ welfare and discipline. He introduced the duo to the scores of supporters who came to welcome him into the club yesterday during a two-and-a-half hours meeting.

“I have met the team’s players and one thing I picked from them when I asked how they lost 4-1 to Young Buffaloes in a Cup final is that their main challenge was stamina. I have brought someone I trust for that and he’s worked with Garankuwa United and my team Ally’s Tigers. His name is Masilonyane Maloka,” announced Kgomongwe, to a huge round of applause.

He further introduced Ally’s Tigers players’ manager Thabiso Magolego, who he said was a no-nonsense person and advocated for discipline among the players.

“He will ensure all players remain focused and committed without coming to training drunk or to games drunk, that they are in training daily and on time, they have food, they are well and all that kind of stuff and his job will be easier once we get the accommodation to keep them in one place,” he said.

The duo is expected to work with the interim MC as they try to adjust to the new environment. Kgomongwe, who will be leaving the country on Tuesday, said they were staying behind.

He also hinted that since the club finished the season with an assistant coach in Bongani Mhlongo, he was also considering some coaches in his home country as well as players to boost the technical bench.
