MBABANE – It’s crunch time for Young Buffaloes and Mbabane Swallows, come tomorrow. In yesterday’s Ingwenyama Cup semi-finals pre-match press conference at Sincephetelo Motor Accident Vehicle Fund (SMVAF) Headquarters, the Swallows’ left-footed winger and skipper declared they were looking beyond their bitter rivals.

“I was excited when Lenhle said in his remarks that one team will be playing the finals for the first time this year but had hoped he will finish the line by stating that one will be playing its fourth final. We have won it three times and will play our fourth final.
“We know our opponents and how they prepare for such games but we’re ready. We have played and beaten them in this tournament twice so even this time, it will be us in final and as players we’re looking forward to the match,” he said. His counterpart in goalkeeper Nhlanhla Gwebu said when they heard about the draw, the feeling they all had was like ‘not this one’.

“Truth is we have been losing to them but this one we can’t. We will turn the tables as we’re also man enough now to see where they’ve been getting us so we will go all out to win this one. We’re ready for this war,” he declared.
He further said Swallows should just accept that the match was a mere formality and just simply give them the go-ahead to the final. Their coaches also declared fireworks. Swallows’ Manyatsi said the spirit was good in his camp to win the match. “The philosophy at Swallows makes my job easy because they’re about winning and the players always know what is expected of them. We’ve prepared and seen Buffaloes’ stronghold as well as their weak points. It’s a new game altogether for us and new strategies will apply,” he said.

Buffaloes’ Dominic Kunene said their preparations were due to be complete by yesterday afternoon.
“We’ve played them before and we’re ready for them. We have analysed all our games against them and even how and when they scored their goals so we’ll be ready for them. It will now be known after the match if our preparations were spot on,” he said.
However, Kunene said the strategies to use on the day would be seen in the match lest he gives tips to his rivals.
