MBABANE – You will never walk alone! Indeed the pupils to benefit from this good course ‘do not walk alone’ but have the Liverpool supporters on their side. ‘You will never walk alone’ is the English Premiership side’s slogan. At least 150 targeted pupils will have new shoes for school next week.

The club’s local supporters have committed to donating 150 school shoes to the Swazi Plaza Back to School Charity Drive.
Speaking during a press briefing the chairman of Liverpool local supporters club, Mbongeni ‘Bingo’ Mbingo said the team saw it fit to partner with Swazi Plaza.

“The slogan, ‘You will never walk alone’ has a deeper meaning than people know. It is more about supporting each other as family. It is about giving hope in time of hopelessness. Partnering with charity is part of our mandate and we have done so in the past. We have partnered with RFM in the past and this year we are happy to join hands with the Swazi Plaza Back to School project,” Mbingo said.

“Since December last year, we have been raising funds through our WhatsApp and Facebook pages which have over 4000 members. We are happy that we have received massive support and we are still appealing for support not only from Liverpool fans but all those who are willing to contribute can do so via Mobile Money or ewallet,” he added.

Mongi Dlamini, who is also a committee member of Liverpool F.C Supporters Club Eswatini, revealed that they had raised E8 000.
“Firstly, I would like to thank Liverpool supporters, who have contributed for the good cause. We have raised E8 000 in the groups so far but our target is donating 150 pairs of shoes to underprivileged children. However, we have members who then pledged more donations like Mduduzi Dlamini (E2 000) while Thulani Xaba and Lobusika Dlamini have put E1 000 apiece with Vusi Nkabinde pledging E400. We can say we have over E12 000 already and our target is E20 000,” Dlamini said.

He further said those who were willing to donate to charity can contact Shoeshoe Ntane at 7606 2573 or Esar Du-Pont at 7605 4011.
Meanwhile, Swazi Plaza Marketing and Promotion Officer Nqobile Ndlangamandla said they were thrilled with the kind gesture from Liverpool F.C Supporters Eswatini.
