MBABANE – It is too early for Manzini Wanderers to celebrate the win over Mbabane Citizens.

This is how one can sum up post-match comments by the Weslians’ coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati after his team’s narrow 1-0 victory against Citizens at Mavuso Sports Centre on Tuesday night. It was a 26th minute Mfanafuthi ‘Taribo’ Bhembe header that earned the maximum points for the hub giants.

“While it is true that it has brought in that confidence among the players, we cannot gloat over this win. There are many grey areas which we still need to work on. We are trying to make players believe in themselves. It’s not easy but they are getting there,” Vilakati said.

Role

He further highlighted the role played by Taribo in the team.
“He is more than just a player. He inspires the young players in the team. He is motivating the other players, the same thing done by the injured Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya. We need the experienced players,” he said.

Meanwhile, Citizens coach Charles Manda said he was happy with the performance of the team.
“We played well and created enough chances but failed to convert them. Not all is lost as there are many games left. We will do our best in our next games to collect maximum points,” Manda said.
The ‘Weslians’ leapfrogged Tambuti to the 11th spot after the win while Citizens are on the 13th spot.
