MONGI, PHIL SHINE IN ESRIC LEAGUE

EZULWINI - Despite the rainy conditions, the pair of Mongi Dlamini and Phil Mnisi were exceptional during the first edition of the annual ESRIC Business League.

The competition which was played in a better ball match play format attracted 96 golfers on the green of the Ezulwini Golf Course yesterday. Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation are sponsoring this year’s edition with a tune of E160 000.Last year’s package was E10 000 less when compared to the current purse.

The pair carded home an impressive score of 47 points to emerge as winners on the day. Coming second was the duo of Frank Hlophe and Clement Nhleko, who carded 46 points to beat Siboniso Mkhwanazi and Mncedisi Ntombini for the second spot. The former scored 46 points after a count back while the latter were relegated to the third spot with 46 points. Mongi Dlamini commended his partner Phil Mnisi for their achievement.

“This is a good way to start the year, all thank to my partner Phil Mnisi. I think we combined very well and the weather did not deter us from doing our best on the greens,” Dlamini said.
Excelling in the ladies category was Nokuthula Dlamini with 34 points while young and upcoming golfer Calsile Gina came second with 27 c/o beating Nomvuyo Dludlu for the second spot.
