MBABANE – After a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Rangers in the Ingwenyama Cup, the defending champions, Mbabane Swallows Captain Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze said they were not under pressure to win the tournament for the consecutive time.

Tsabedze said they would take each game as it comes, whether it’s a big team or a small team in the quarter-finals. Swallows sailed through to the quarter-finals with a hard fought 2-0 win with goals scored by Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko and Sandile Hlatshwako in either half of the match.

Easy

“There are no easy matches in such a competition. We are happy with the win and we have to fight hard. We are now looking to the next stage and take each game as it comes. We are under no pressure to defend the tittle but we do want to win it. The festive season break was of great help to the team as we were able to prepare well,” he said.

Swallows did not end last year in a positive note as they lost coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati, crashed out of the CAF Champions Legaue preliminary rounds and they ended the MTN Premier Legaue first round fifth.
Swallows are yet to taste defeat in the Ingwenyama Cup since inception in 2015/16 season.

Meanwhile, Rangers captain Norman Dlamini said as a team they feel they did well as they never surrendered the game to Swallows. He said missing some senior players in the squad was part of their let-down.
“We were able to make them run for their money. Our aim was to win the match but their experience worked for them,” he said.
