HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR NEW MBABANE GOLF CLUB COMMITTEE

MBABANE – “One of the major highlights for the Mbabane Golf Club this year was the appointment of a new executive committee which looks forward to develop the sport and the club in 2019.”

These were the words of the club’s Vice-Captain Sifiso Dhlamini, as he explained its high expectations for the new year.
The committee is led by Captain Genius Dlamini, Xolani Dlamini being the secretary, while Mzamo Dlamini is the treasurer, with Kate Ansley as the ladies captain and there are three members.
He said 2018 was a great year for Mbabane Club golfers as they made significant progress and attracted more membership.

“We are proudly the club in the country which is consistently active and the rest are not as active as we are. We play these tournaments from January to December,” said Dhlamini.
The vice said they were grateful to Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (SRIC) and Eswatini MTN as these were their major sponsors.
“The two sponsor our monthly tournaments, which are the SRIC Monthly Mug and the MTN Monthly Masters,” he said.

Dhlamini said the two tournaments attracted players from other clubs which included Mhlambanyatsi, Manzini and Mananga among others.
He added that they welcomed a pool of golfers during these tournaments and would sometimes fail to register others as they were too many.
