MBABANE – It’s a mountain to climb for inconsistent Manzini Wanderers in the Ingwenyama Cup last 16 after they were handed a tough draw against police side Royal Leopard yesterday.

They face a mammoth task after the scrappy 2-0 win against National First Division League side City Warriors last Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium. The draw also saw an exciting fixture where capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders were drawn against giant slayers, Vovovo FC and will play at Nsukuwansuku Stadium.

Forcing

The Motshane-based outfit had surprised a number of big teams in the MTN Premier League before forcing a draw against the ‘black bull’ in their last league game. Vovovo first won against Mbabane Swallows before making another upset against Manzini Sundowns in the first round of the league. The last 16 draw was conducted yesterday at the Sincemphetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF) headquarters. The fixture pits Leopard and Wanderers at Mayaluka Stadium in Big Bend on January 5, 2019. Kick-off at 5:30pm.

Raiser

The curtain-raiser will see Tambuti FC take on Young Buffaloes at the stadium at 3:30pm. It was yet another easy draw for defending champions, Mbabane Swallows after they were drawn against first division side, Rangers and will play on January 5, 2019 at King Sobhuza Stadium, kick-off at 3:30pm. Malanti Chiefs will have their ultimate test when they face unpredictable first division’s Madlenya FC, who shocked MTN Premier League first round winners, Green Mamba, in the last 32 of the knockout tournament. This game will be staged at Killarney Stadium on January 6, 2019 and kick-off is at 3:30pm.

Another exciting fixture will see Matspha United take on Moneni Pirates at Nsukuwansuku Stadium on January 5, 2019 at 3:30pm. Not really a tough draw for Manzini Sundowns as the hub giants had been pitted against third-tier side Ubombo Flyers at Somhlolo National Stadium on January 6, 2019 at 4pm. The curtain raiser will see Mbabane Citizens play against Tinyosi FC at 2pm. E1.3 million is at stake as this is the prize money the champions will take home upon being crowned the winners of the tournament. The Management Committee, through Secretary Simanga Nhleko confirmed the fixtures.
