MBABANE – A player who transfers to another club will cost a maximum E3 000.

This is under the Manzini Regional Pool Association (MRPA) which plays under the Dixie’s International/MRPA Pool League with a package of E40 000 for the second edition. The first edition was sponsored to the tune of E20 000 but the company dealing in sports clothing and equipment was impressed and doubled the amount.

“After we held our AGM (Annual General Meeting) on Sunday at Malkerns, St. John Bosco Primary School, it was agreed that we increase our players’ transfer fee from minimum E500 to minimum E1000 and also from maximum E2500 to E3000. Clubs felt the players needed to feel valued and take the game seriously especially with Dixie’s showing the sport can benefit from this partnership,” explained MRPA Chairman Muntu Dlamini.

Also changed was the affiliation fee for new and current member clubs. New teams will be required to pay E600 while current members will part with E500. This will substitute registration fee, subscriptions, joining fee and cards costs among other things. Dlamini added that the meeting went well and thanked all the clubs for their contributions while wishing them yet another exciting season next year.
