MBABANE – A capacity crowd is expected in today’s grand opening of the Ingwenyama Cup 2018/19 edition at Somhlolo National Stadium.

The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) COO and tournament’s Management Committee member Pat Vilakati confirmed yesterday that they prepared 7500 tickets for the triple-header involving the country three crowd-pullers as of noon.

The 7500 tickets cover the sitting capacity of the country’s soccer Mecca.
“However, should the numbers prove above these are the presale was looking impressive already, we’ll still be ready to have 2000 extra tickets,” he said.
Each ticket costs E40 for the games that will open with Manzini Wanderers against City Warriors at noon, followed by Mbabane Highlanders against Hub Sundowns at 2pm before defending champions Mbabane Swallows resume their defence to make it four in a row against Super League outfit Young Movers at 4pm.

Vilakati also appealed to fans to be in their best behavior and enjoy the Ingwenyama Cup games without violence or any form of misconduct. He said all supporters were expected to respect the sitting arrangement.

“Wanderers will sit on the right hand side of the Royal Box, Highlanders on the usual left and Swallows on the grandstand facing Parliament while the rest of the clubs can occupy the rest of the remaining space outside of the big three’s stands,” Vilakati said.

He said gates would open at 9:30am for vendors and 10am for supporters. It will cost vendors E150, payable at the gate to sell their wares while vending outside will not be allowed. Fans will also not be allowed to move in and out of the stadium in a bid to curb cheating on the tickets as it was discovered recently by the PLE that fans shared one ticket to watch games.
