MBABANE – The National Under-17 team is cruising in the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region V Games.

They brushed aside hosts Botswana in yesterday’s match, despite that they have already secured their place in the semi-finals. They recorded their third victory through a lone goal scored by Sisekelo Dlamini five minutes from the start, winning 1-0.

They will play Angola in the semi-final on Friday at a venue yet to be confirmed.
The Velekhaya Mthethwa-led side first beat Namibia 3-0 in their opening game before the 1-0 win over Zambia.

The side is yet to taste defeat in the tournament. Swaziland National Sport and Recreation Council (SNSRC) Media Officer and Team Eswatini Assistant Manager Dumisani Ntiwane said the players showed great football and they deserved the victory.

Some of the players who were behind Botswana’s defeat in front of their home ground include Langelihle Dlamini, Rio Matsenjwa and Meshack Dlamini among others.
Matsenjwa went on to win the match of the match award.
