MBABANE – Nkululeko Gama tops them all again. He is forever dominant in this weekly 5km Mbabane Club Parkrun. With 73 runners taking part yesterday morning, Gama was once again the winner after 16:35 minutes. This was the 83rd edition.


Before winning the race, he had seen his proposal for aerobics inclusion come to fruition just before the race as the session was used as a warm-up.
Coming second was his colleague Nkosinathi Gama on time 16:49 minutes while Mduduzi Africa Dlamini finished third on time 17:26 minutes. It is not a men’s race only but all types of people as even walking is allowed.


The ladies were also there and taking pole position was 13-year-old Swazi Slojos’ athlete Simphiwe Gama.

She clocked 25:53 minutes after showing a lot of energy and enthusiasm to shine in this run, which paid off. Overall, she was placed 14th. She was followed by Annabel Morgan in 35:33 minutes.


“The exams are over now and all school going children are home for the festive holidays. I would like to invite them to participate in the weekly run so that by the time schools resume in January, their bodies will be fit and their minds refreshed,” she said.


The run starts at 8am every Saturday at the Mbabane Club through to the golf course and back to starting point. It usually lasts 30 minutes, with all participants often clocking under this time.
