MBABANE – It is now official.

South African businessman Mehluli Nhlengetfwa is the new Managing Director (MD) of Manzini Wanderers. Confirming the appointment of Nhlengetfwa yesterday was the team’s National Supporters Committee (NSC) which has all along been calling for former directors in Percy Mngomezulu, Peter Mathaba and Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini to step down. The NSC, together with a number of supporters, vouched for the South African to take over as the team director as they felt he was fit to run the team due to his financial muscle. Chairman of the NSC Majay’vane Dlamini said it was true that Nhlengetfwa had taken over as Wanderers’ director. “Nhlengetfwa is the new Director for Manzini Wanderers. We would like to thank our former directors who stood by their word and made the transition of power easy,” said Dlamini.

The chairman said the former directors must know that they still considered them as Wanderers supporters. “The new director arrived today (yesterday) at the Trade Fair during supporters social games and took the chance to introduce himself,” he said.
Dlamini also thanked his five-member task team which was headed by former sole director, Sikebhe Dlamini, for making this power transition a reality. The chairman urged all those who will be working closely with Nhlengetfwa to ensure that they respect and take all his instructions without question. “Let us respect him and be submissive to his instructions. Good things are on the way as we need change. We might even win one of the remaining cup tournaments, who knows?” he asked rhetorically.
When sought for comment, the team chief executive officer’s (CEO) mobile phone rang unanswered and was later out of the MTN network coverage area. The new MD downplayed the matter when asked about the new developments but did not deny that he was the new MD of the team. “Please, can I respectfully not comment as there is no official announcement made yet. Let us wait until such time,” he said.
