SUPERSTARS, JAZZ IN SNBL FINALS

MANZINI – It will go down to the wire as 2016 champions, Manzini Superstars clash with defending champions in the finals of the SNBL next weekend.

Superstars beat Imbumbe 69-57 in the semi-finals first play-offs, which were held at Mavuso Sports Centre on Saturday.The Size Nxumalo-led charges will meet Jazz in the finals of the Men’s Elite League. The latter brushed aside Manzini Steels in another tightly-contested semi-final. Jazz won 83-71 to book a final spot. The finals, which can be played for up to three legs, will start on Friday. This means they will play three games provided that each team win the first and second games. Worth mentioning is that round two can also be a decider if a team completes a double.

The finalised fixture will be released during the course of the week. This was confirmed by head of technical committee Mandisa Zwane. “Jazz are in the final once again.  This time they will play Superstars. The games will be played in the best of three format starting on Friday. We will release the final fixture on Friday,” Zwane said. Meanwhile, in the Men’s Promotional’s League, Langalam Dunkylaine were confirmed champions after they beat Chase Basketball 68-66 with Super Ladies declared as National Women League champions after beating Lady Jazz 104-36. The champions in the Men’ Elite League are entitled to E20 000 with Dunkylaine, who have been confirmed as Men’s Promotion winners, taking home E11 500 with National Women Champions, Super Ladies set to receive E15 000. The league which will come to an end this weekend is sponsored by Eswatini MTN to a tune of E300 000.
