MBABANE – Energetic Nigerian striker Quadri Aladeon Kola could not have stayed at Mbabane Swallows – Zesco United will pay him a E60 000 monthly salary.

Kola is gone for good after passing his medical tests yesterday at Zambia’s Zesco United. Sources within the Zesco camp confirmed that the striker was already training with the rest of the squad as their preparations got underway on Monday.

“He had a successful medical and already feeling at home after a warm and professional welcome by the club,” said our impeccable source in Zambia. While efforts to reach the player failed, it was established that Kola will be getting a E60 000 monthly salary from the Zambian champions who he recently gave a torrid time in the same tournament last term.

The source said the player was given an 18-month contract which will be signed next week as soon as the player’s agent Charles Matsebula arrives in Zambia, expectedly early next week.

“What was made clear by the club is that the striker was not even returning to Swallows but staying as they intend to use him for their CAF match in Niger next week,” said the source.

Matsebula, was also sought but his cellphone rang unanswered for the better part of the day and did not respond to WhatsApp texts sent to him on the subject. Swallows General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane referred all questions to their PRO, Jackson Dlamini. “Kola is no longer with us but Zesco United.

All we can say is we were grateful to be with him and he helped us be where we are in the league. We wish him the best of luck as he embarks on this new challenge,” Dlamini said, also confirming last weekend’s clash against Matsapha United was his last. He leaves with four league goals under his belt.
