MBABANE – If they put up an outstanding performance tomorrow and Sunday, local riders stand a chance to be included in the Equestrian Regional Awards.
The Swaziland Equestrian Federation (SEF) will this weekend host two events at Nyanza Stables in Malkerns.

Secretary General of the federation Sue Elsey said they would be hosting two very prestigious and important events in their annual equestrian calendar this weekend.

“Tomorrow sees the FEI World Dressage Challenge 2018, which is an international dressage competition in which the country’s top adult and youth riders will be competing. Results will be compared to other countries in our region, wherein the emaSwati riders may be placed for regional awards,” said Elsey.

She then highlighted that on Sunday, they will stage the Eswatini National Dressage Championships 2018, with riders and horses who have qualified to compete in various national awards.

“A great deal of work is going into these events, both in the training and preparations of the horses and riders, as well as in the organisation of the events, which involves the hosting of international dressage judges,” said the secretary general.

Elsey further mentioned that the SEF wished all its riders the best of luck in the competitions and was very excited about the results as the standard of dressage has improved significantly this year across all age groups.
