MBABANE - The Oyama Kyokushin Karate Association of Eswatini China bound squad has received a boost ahead of their World Championships.

This was made possible by City Office Machines, ahead of the Kyokushin Karate World Cup.

The company donated E5 000 to the association.
Speaking during the presentation at the company’s offices yesterday, the Managing Director, Gavin Moir, said they were pleased to support the association, more so because one of their employers was part of the squad.

The squad, which leaves tomorrow, comprises Linda Dlamini (a City Office employee) Sindi Maphalala, Cebsile Mthembu and Mpendulo Mahlobo. Shihan Mfanafuthu Vilakati will be leading the delegation. The global tournament, which is set for Shang Hai, China will start on Saturday and it is expected to finish the following day. However, the team is expected to be back home on November 22.

Supporting

“This is not the first time we are supporting them, even in 2016 we contributed and Linda was part of the squad. We applaud him for excelling both at work and in this sport and this is the reason we are partnering with them again,” Moir said.
Meanwhile, the association’s General Secretary, Bongani Ndzabandzaba, thanked both City Office Machines and Swaziland National Sports and Recreation Council for supporting them.

“We first want to thank City Office Machines. This is not the first time they have partnered with us and we urge other entities to support us. We also want to thank the Sports Council for the support. They are always willing to assist us when they can,” Ndzabandzaba said.
