LOBAMBA - A rare goal was scored by Malanti Chiefs goalkeeper Xolani Gama who was the talk of the night as his team played to a 1-all draw against Tambuti.

This was in an MTN Premier League clash played under the floodlights and chilly weather. However, it was still a fast-paced match with both sides displaying good carpet football mixed with flair amid a wet and slippery turf.

Just when it looked as if the game would go to the break with no goal scored, the Malanti keeper stunned his counterpart with a long clearance after a save. The clearance caught Tambuti’s Mlamuli off his goal, just outside the box and when it took a bump and sped past him, he could do nothing but unsuccessfully chased after the ball as it took two more bumps before making it into the net. This was a minute after the hour mark.

After the break, it was Tambuti that started explosively, pushing Malanti to defending. It was no surprise when they deservedly went level in the 66th. Talented midfielder Mpendulo Ngidi was on target with a close range effort that beat the goalkeeper hands down.

Malanti reorganised themselves and soon started their own attacks, making it an end to end match with Tambuti more threatening. It was nearly 2-1 up in favour of Malanti in the 74th but the Tambuti keeper was on point to block with both his feet.
In the end, it was a share of the spoils that did not help much in terms of their log positions in mid table.
