MBABANE- It is not about fancy equipment but what you are willing to bring into your workout.

Studio-Z ladies only gym founder and Public Relations Officer (PRO), Zama Potgieter, is such an inspiration to the society, especially women who are eager to lose weight without the use of weight loss pills but exercise. The ladies only gym is situated in Manzini. She walks the talk and leads by example as she is a dedicated and hard-working physical trainer.

The warrior woman, aged 31, resides in the hub. She has said that her love for body exercise manifested itself at a tender age and drove her to creating a gym especially for women since they are more concerned with their body shape, weight and appearance. As a mother and wife, she has previously struggled with balancing family roles and making time for the gym but managed to lose a lot of weight in her fitness journey.

She revealed that she was once dress size 38, weighing 83kg, but through hard work and dedication to exercise, she is currently size 32 and weighs 65kg. Some of her fitness achievements include the Comrades’ Marathon and Warrior Women championships.

Workouts

She said that the most essential trick to achieving the desired body was hard work and perseverance. She also gave insightful, motivational and humorous quotes to help encourage more ladies to allocate themselves time for body exercise and fitness workouts.

“You don’t get the booty you want by sitting on it. It is not about perfection but the effort you bring especially when you do not feel like it. Your fitness is 100 per cent mental and the hard part is not getting your body in shape but getting your mind in shape. Personally, I do not want a child’s body but that of a woman who is extremely fit”, she said confidently.

Muscles

She added that losing weight and developing muscles could not be achieved over night but through persistent workout and perseverance and that is not easy to do. Success in the gym demands self-discipline and that means following a guided diet and training routine. The warrior lady said that she hits the gym six times a week, enduring four hours of training daily. Her training varies from early morning runs, weight lifting, kickboxing, push ups and dance exercises.

She also follows a low fibre, low-fat, high protein diet, constituting mainly of chicken breasts, tuna fish and also drinks a lot of water.
“The perfect body is not achieved through fancy equipment but is determined by your workout input. My message to women willing to lose weight is that they should stop making excuses and burn calories through exercise, not diet pills because they have side effects. Let exercise be your stress reliever not food”, she added.
She invited more ladies to join the gym so that they could improve their health and fitness.
