JUDO TEAM LEAVING FOR MPUMALANGA CHALLENGE

MBABANE – Eswatini Judo team will today leave the country for Nelspruit, Mpumalanga Province, to compete in the Nelspruit Open.
The Mpumalanga challenge will be hosted at the Oewersig Hall in Nelspuit.


The Swaziland Judo Federation Secretary General, Tertius Esterhuizen, said the federation received an invitation in July from the Mpumalanga Judo Association in South Africa.
“The Eswatini development judo team will leave tomorrow (today) from the Theatre Club for the Nelspruit Open,” said the secretary general.


Esterhuizen further mentioned that the junior team will be captained by Wezizwe Harding for the boys’ team and Michelle Shen will captain the girls’ team.
“The team is accommodated in White River at the Ella Combrinck Youth Centre,” he said.
The team consists of 16 athletes.


The boys’ team has nine athletes, while the girls’ team consists of seven.
According to the secretary general, the age range of the athletes is between eight and 18 years.
The teams are led by two coaches, Mashumi Sihlongonyane and Siobhan Esterhuysen.
