MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers staunch supporter, Sudmo Ngwenya is the man behind the new Eswatini Mobile Football Sponsorship dubbed as ‘Siphila La”.

Ngwenya’s suggestion got the full house’s backing during the Football Sponsorship Program Review which was held at City Court Guest House last night.
KhosiKen Management Sports Consultancy’s Kenneth Makhanya had suggested that the house should come up with a slogan for the new football sponsorship program that will not only encapsulate and promote the registration of supporters but also dovetail with the whole sponsorship project. The Sports Consultancy Company act as link between the teams and Eswatini Mobile.

Teams that were represented were Manzini Wanderers, Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows. Representatives from these teams came with different suggestions and some of them were Sisonke kanye, kanye,Wololo Walala Wasala, Play Like a Champion,Sondzela Nawe, #Asambeni and #Siphila La!.

Makhanya gave all those who made suggestions a chance to support their slogan and then ordered the floor to vote. Seemingly Sdumo Ngwenya’s suggestion was the favourite as it got massive support from the floor.

Ngwenya did not even have to explain what he meant as it was clear to all sundry that the slogan meant everyone will benefit from the sponsorship. The teams, supporters and Eswatini Mobile and football at large will benefit from the project.

Slogan

In the end it was agreed that this will be the new slogan for the football sponsorship program.
During its infant stage, the E10.5 million projects only sponsored four teams, namely Mbabane Highlanders, Manzini Wanderers, Mandlenya and Tinyosi F.C. Mbabane Swallows have been added as new beneficiary from this project.

Speaking during the event, Sdumo Mdladla who spoke on behalf of Eswatini Mobile emphasised the need for team to put hands together for the growth of football in the country.
