MBABANE- Premier splashed E25 000 for the Army Commander’s Shooting Tournament to take place on October 13 at Nokwane.

Premier boss Sithembile Khumalo presented the E25 000 at the Army Commander’s shooting tournament launch held at Nokwane.
She said they have been working with the Umbuto Eswatini Defense Force (UEDF) for a long time. Khumalo added that it was an honour to be the main sponsor of the event in support of Hlalawati.

The Swaziland National and Recreation Council (SNSRC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Darius Dlomo said they would like to pass their sincere appreciation to UEDF for bringing up the shooting tournament.

He further stated that shooting is believed to be something done by soldiers, police or thieves, while this tournament will educate the entire nation to be in shooting as a sport.

Dlomo mentioned that it is a skill that will help in educating the mind and body to be focused as shooting needs one to be in full attention when holding a gun.
He also said people need to focus which will help them in taking positive decisions.
UEDF Shooting Manager Delisa Tsabedze, who represented The Head of Shooting Team Major Sicalo Dlamini, said the tournament has been postponed to October 13 due to the Imbube Marathon which is billed for Sunday. Ntshalintshali added that the event takes place annually and it was then set for them to host one every October.
He mentioned that the (UEDF) shooting team is made out of soldiers from the different barracks compound in Eswatini.
Eswatini Rifle Association (ERA) Chairman Sipho Ntshalintshali said registration will be at 9am for those who would like to participate on the day of the tournament.
“The first shot will be at 9:30am,” he said.
