MATSAPHA – Defending champions Correctional Services will not have much difficulty in the opening stages of this year’s Trade Fair Volleyball Cup.

The reigning champions avoided their tough rivals RSP in yesterday’s draw held at Matsapha Police College. They are not in the same group with RSP in both men and ladies’ volleyball. In the men’s division, Correctional are in Group B along with weaker rivals RSSC, USDF and Mahlanya.

Their forces’ rivals RSP are in Group A. They will play against tricky Customs, Ludzeludze and Mshinande in the round-robin eliminations. The two top teams in each group in both divisions will progress to the knockout stage billed for Tuesday at Mavuso Sports Emporium which plays to the Trade Fair Exhibition 2018 which started yesterday.

The ladies groups are as follows, Group A has RSP, Zakhele, USDF and RSSC while Group C has Correctional, Bob Ladies and Chilly Babes.
Winners of groups A will play runners-up in group B in both male and ladies for the semis which will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively while the finals are scheduled for next Saturday.

The champions of the SIPA/PSI sponsored tournament will take home E2 000, runners-up pocket E1 200 for both divisions. Third and fourth will receive E500 each while from fifth to eighth it will be E350 per team.
