MBABANE – Essential Hardware saw it essential to increase the HRFA Under-17 sponsorship by 100 per cent.

The hardware presented E28 000 to the Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) that will see teams from six Mbabane Zones playing in the tournament. Last year, the company sponsored the tournament to the tune of E14 000. Essential Hardware Khumbu Dlamini said they were happy with what they saw in the first edition last year. “It’s been only two years since we started sponsoring the event but we were impressed by the end product. Despite that the country is going under economic meltdown, the company saw it fit that they continue with the assistance they are giving in the development of the sport.

“It’s good that some of the players who are a product of this sponsorship have already appeared in national team colours and it gives us courage to continue giving out the assistance. This is a chance of the team to come and identify talent,” she said.
Dlamini said E15 000 would go towards the prize monies while the balance would assist in administration. Meanwhile, HRFA Secretary Nigel Shongwe said they were happy that Essential Hardware had stayed with team even at this difficult time. “It is unfortunate that this sponsorship only benefits the team from the south yet there are other teams from northern Hhohho. We hope that in the near future, all the teams will benefit from such a sponsorship,” he said.
