NKONYENI – 4EVA Cycling Club cyclists proved invincible on the trails during Saturday’s Nkonyeni G2G Mountain Bike (MTB) race.

On top of parading a winner in the 65km main race in Thulani Gule, the second longest event (35km) was won by Ayanda Dlamini from the same team. The latter clocked 01:38:17 hours.
Cordellia Henwood was also a podium finisher for the club in the female 35km category.

Fast improving youngster Malik McNamara, who is also from 4EVA, was in the top six in the 20km event.
This is per the provisional results provided by the time keepers from Pro-time in South Africa. The Cycling Association of Swaziland (CAS) is still to release the final overall and categorised results following an age mix-up during registration.

Meanwhile, Ayanda was relieved to win gold, as he stressed that he endured a challenging ride. He said he struggled to see the markings at times.

Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) Office Administrator Phephile Matsenjwa, on the other hand, was among the notable newcomers on the day.  She endured the 20km race while racing under newcomers Kusekhaya Cycling Club banner. Her bicycle had punctures on both wheels, but she stressed that it did little to deter her spirit, as taking part in a competitive race was a welcome change.
