MBABANE – It’s empowerment at its best. Elite rookies Mbabane Citizens boss Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane has appointed his younger brother Mandla as the club’s PLS Board of Governor. Mandla is a young and upcoming football administrator, with an eye for skilful players.

He started working for football when his elder brother was still sponsoring Umbelebele Cosmos and further gained more experience during their three-season tenure at Mbabane Highlanders.

The Simelanes helped Highlanders regain promotion back to the elite league after a historic relegation in the 2013/14 season.
“Mandla is Mbabane Citizens’ PLS Board of Governor and has already started his duties as of yesterday in the PLS AGM,” confirmed ‘Rubber’.
He said this was an elevation as he believed his brother had done a good job since they started working together.

He also confirmed that he was taking over from Jockie Ferreira, who had been the governor all along since First Division.

He also thanked Ferreira for his efforts to ensure they were represented in the PLS structure as affiliates while wishing his sibling the best of luck in his new journey. He said this was the time to learn more about the game and grow as an administrator of the game.
