MBABANE - Bulembu Country Lodge have won the Inyatsi Swazi Frontier’s Annual Best Venue Award for last year’s edition.
The award is based on feedback from cyclists who participate in Inyatsi Swazi Frontier mountain bike stage race.

During Inyatsi Swazi Frontier, four local accommodation establishments; Hawane Resort, Bulembu Country Lodge, Pigg’s Peak Hotel and Maguga Lodge are transformed into ‘Race Villages’ which means that they are fully-booked exclusively for purposes of the race. Organiser, Lesley Foss said all the riders, crew, supporters, sponsors and service providers were accommodated and dined at the Race Villages which are vibrant with activity.

“Most of the cyclists are foreign tourists to Eswatini, mainly from South Africa although some came from other countries as well.  It is important that they go back home with the best possible impression of Eswatini so that they can share their experience with their family, friends and work colleagues. Inyatsi Construction (title sponsor) and Total Swaziland (supporting sponsor) join with the organisers to congratulate Bulembu Country Lodge’s achievement,” she said.

Foss said Bulembu Country Lodge was no stranger to the Best Venue Award, having won it in 2013 and 2014.
“It is a charming lodge nestled at the foot of Mount Emlembe.  Due to its mining-town history and also its Hotel Training Centre, it has sufficient accommodation and modern catering facilities which enable it to accommodate and feed our large numbers,” she said.

Foss said each local accommodation establishment presented a distinctly different offering. She said the award was based on comparable items such as staff presentation, friendliness and level of service, cleanliness, WiFi as well as the quality of food and drinks.

“The modern tourist is social-media savvy and heavily reliant on WiFi for communication as well as entertainment.  The provision of capable WiFi proved to be the biggest differentiator. All four local accommodation establishments put in a huge effort for Inyatsi Swazi Frontier and it is an event that everyone looks forward to each year.  We are very grateful to all of them for their commitment to improving their standards year after year so that together we can deliver a world-class experience,” she concluded.
The four venues have another chance to win the award for their efforts during this year’s race which takes place on October 11 to 13.
