MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows have cleared the trio of goalkeeper Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza, attacking midfielder Felix Badenhorst and defender Sanele Mkhweli ahead of their trip to Tunisia.

Swallows, who face Tunisia’s Etoile next Friday, have released Mkhweli to TS Sporting while Badenhorst and Ginindza have finally joined Mbombela United.  Both teams campaign in South Africa’s National First Division League.

Felix signed on the dotted line last month, as exclusively revealed by this publication. ‘Nkomishi’, on the other hand, is a surprise acquisition. Mkhweli was also unveiled by TS Sporting late last month.
The players missed training yesterday.

Initially, Swallows had wanted the players to play for the team until the end of the CAF Champions League group stages matches next month, but they evetually released them under unclear circumstances. Well-informed insiders told this publication that the team decided to allow the players to complete the switch to their new teams early, as their focus was questionable. Swallows are fresh from a demoralising 0-3 loss to Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia at Mavuso Sports Centre last Tuesday.

Finer details of the deals are scanty, but Felix has been reportedly promised a pay of about E30 000 at his new club.
A source at Mbombela, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the players were headed to Mpumalanga this weekend and would leave with the team to Vaal past Johannesburg for a one-day tournament involving that country’s Premiership sides Free State Stars and Bloemfontein Celtic today.

“Next weekend they (Felix and Nkomishi) will play at Mbombela Stadium in another tournament featuring Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and TS Sporting,” said the source.
Mbombela Director Oupa Matsebula could not be drawn for comment on the issue.
This means up to four players have already parted ways with the side as gifted winger Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze is at Absa Premiership outfit Polokwane City. However, all is not lost as Swallows have lined replacements that include grafter Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze, defender Siboniso Ndzabandzaba from Tambuti as well as Aladeon Kola, among others.
