CHASE FOR ‘YAM’ NAWE’ E1M ‘CARROT’ BEGINS

MBABANE – Four teams begin their hunt for the EswatiniTelecom Charity Cup E1 million first prize when they invade Mavuso Sports Centre for play-off matches today.


By the end of the day, one of four teams that include Malanti Chiefs, Green Mamba, Young Buffaloes and Moneni Pirates will get a ticket to the main tournament to be played on August 5.

The first semi-final will feature Malanti and Green Mamba at 11am while the rest of the sides have a date two hours later. The winners will face off in the decider at 6pm and the play-offs champions will qualify for the major showdown featuring the ‘Big Three’ of Manzini Wanderers, Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows.


Suspense is the buzzword, as supporters are wondering if their favourite teams will not be rusty after the long break. Below is a closer look at today’s matches.
