DON’T ASSOCIATE US WITH POLITICS – ‘SHANA’

MBABANE – Finally Manzini Wanderers Captain Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya has broken his silence regarding players boycotting training in the past week.

Maziya made these comments yesterday almost a week later after the team stopped training following reports that they were being mistreated by coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe.
“All I appeal for is that players should not be dragged into politics. We just want to focus doing our job as players. However it is hard to focus on our job when there is instability in the team,” Maziya said.

Although he admitted that he was reluctant to comment as the matter was been dealt with at team level, he wanted to speak on behalf of the players before the supporters found fault with them.

“We need to make things clear for all the stakeholders. It’s not that we do not want Nyanga or something. When we stopped training we wanted the administrator space to address this issue without our involvement. We felt were in the middle of things as players and honestly we do not know how to deal with them. We opted to stay away from training until we get clarity from the CEO on what is the position is regarding our leadership,” he added.
