MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders’ Chief Executive Officer Cel’colo ‘Dino’ Dlamini has frowned at reports that implied the marriage between the team and Swazi Mobile had ended.

Dlamini addressed this subject during a supporters’ meeting at the MVA offices in Mbabane yesterday.
Swazi Mobile banners were prominent at during the same meeting, which was also attended by some officials from Swazi Mobile.
Dlamini said it was not true that their relationship with the mobile telephone company had come had ended.

“We do not know where these reports have come from, because as you (supporters) can see the sponsor is here with us. There is not even one point where we discussed ending the relationship with Swazi Mobile, and we were equally shocked to learn of these reports,” he said.

Dlamini further warned members of the team’s Management Committee (MC) to respect the team’s structures and not release information that is unauthorised.

Stories

“We may talk about other stories with our friends, but those involve the team should not be discussed outside the MC structure. We must address team issues through the right channels, because we end finding difficulty responding to questions from the media about things that came out through members of the MC,” he said.

Chairman of Highlanders’ National Supporters Committee Kenneth Dlamini urged the team’s fans to support the sponsor by buying its merchandise.

He also encouraged them to register so that the team can have a record of who they were, and where they are located.
“Highlanders supporters must know each other, so that it becomes easier to offer assistance to someone if the need arises,” he said.
