MBABANE – Zimbabwe’s experienced coach Darlington Dodo is likely to join Manzini Sundowns before the start of the season.

The most travelled coach is expected to arrive in the country before the end of this week to meet Sundowns Chairman Mark Carmichael. Dodo was coaching Bulawayo City in Zimbabwe before he allegedly showed interest in joining Sundowns.

He parted ways with the Bulawayo based club after failing to meet the targets that he was given at the start of the season.
A source close to the matter confirmed that Dodo was the right coach for Sundowns as he will also assist the team in their development programmes.

“He may travel to the country before end of this week to meet with Sundowns and signing a deal. If both parties agree, then he will take over,” said the source.

Eyeing

Sundowns who were eyeing for Malanti Chiefs Humphrey Mlwane have gone against locals.
Sundowns Chairman Carmichael said for now they were engaged with a number of coaches and they will confirm once they have settled for a deal.
Sundowns were left out of this year’s Swazi Telecom Charity Cup. They finished seventh in the league.
