IT’S E1M FOR ‘YAM’ NAWE’ CHAMPS

MANZINI – Win the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup and become a millionaire in one day.


This is a revised ‘carrot’ for the 2018 ‘Yam’ Nawe’ edition winners, which is a share from a revised E2.7 million purse, which was announced by Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini, during a launch at Mavuso Sports Centre yesterday. The PM was represented by acting Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Owen Nxumalo.


The PM announced the new package, which increased by over E500 000. Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) Executive Member, Mduduzi ‘Tsotsi’ Mabila, on behalf of Chairman Mark Carmichael, revealed the new prize money for the champions, which shot up from E950 000 to E1 million.

“The Swazi Telecom Charity Cup is one of those initiatives that tick a number of key boxes.  It creates another competition to motivate and thrill our footballers and spectators alike, and, in raising money for good causes, it stimulates a strong sense of goodwill and care for others,” said the PM.


Last year’s package was E2.2 million and Swallows won the E950 000 first prize ahead of Royal Leopard, who will not be part of this year’s tournament.
